A group of queer black creatives coming together to make music, fashion and visual arts ranging from posters to films. On this page, you will find some of the work I've done while trying to build our brand up.
EVENTS
NIGHTSHIFT PRESENTS: PASS THE MIC
Our first event held at in 2022. We hosted 5 amazing black artists and creators and held performances by myself and 3 other musicians; Tariq, Puallae & Andre The Kid who also joined in on an open mic.
MASK OFF: THE FUNDRAISER
This event was a fundraiser for an ongoing project to create a safe space and initiate discussions to eliminate the stigma behind neurodivergence specifically in the black community. We had a marketplace where ND creators could sell and held a live talk where people could share experiences followed by poetry and performances.
Here is a poster I initially made on Clip Studio Paint featuring illustrations of all the members at the time. This is where I pulled the brand colour scheme from.
SHADOW - OUR MASCOT
Using Sculptey Clay, I played around with making a 3D mascot called Shadow. with wire joints, she is able to move and sit on flat surfaces. From this, we got our logo.
she is reminiscent of old rock band logos with the crossed out eyes and a smiley face capturing the influence of alternative and 'emo' styles and aesthetics in our group while also bringing in the afro puff hairstyle.
